Two dangerous attitudes that affect perspective

At least my thoughts on the matter…

1. Accountability
I don’t particularly agree with the adage, “Satan made me do it”.
Also, although comforting, the blanket statement of, “If it’s meant to be”.
These familiar sayings are not only passive by nature but they lack understanding of the Plan of Salvation.
A third of the hosts of Heaven were lost to the simple concept of agency. Christ’s plan was chosen so that we would be able to be free-agents during this moral life. So would it make sense for any sort of active intervention good or bad?
The truth is, we cause 99% of our own hardships due to the natural consequences of our choices.
However, with that said and using our agency, we may take an active role and call upon the powers of heaven so that our lives may in turn be positively influenced. [Or the powers of the adversary for those so inclined.]

2. Isolation
The feeling of unique pain, suffering or sorrow is also a dangerous attitude to maintain.
It is important to realize the comforting fact that there is not a feeling, thought or idea that has come across your mind that someone has not already felt, coped and conquered before.
Abundant examples of how to cope with tribulations come from looking to the Saints marching across the country, Modern day and Scriptural Heroes and of course our greatest example, the Lord.
In the midst of our hardest trials we may be comforted and supported by the perspective that we are not alone and there is ALWAYS a light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't agree with the adage, "Satan made me do it" either. In my case, it's usually "Easton made me do it."
